Experience Europe is the trip that I am going on through People to People. This is a glimpse at the things I might be doing while on the trip.

We start out in the the Netherlands, in Amsterdam. We will cruise through the canals of this city that used to be underwater. Next we will travel to Anne Frank's hiding place during World War 2. As we explore her hiding place we will get the chance to marvel at the determination and will of this young girl and her family. We will then move on and watch as master craftsmen create traditional Dutch clogs and cheese.

We move on to Brussels, Belgium. We will walk through the Grand Palace, also known as the heart of Brussels. We will then get a taste of the true Belgium as we watch chocolatiers create their delicious world-famous delicacies.

Now we travel to Paris, France, also known as the City of Love. We go to the top of the Eiffel Tower and take in the breath-taking view. We will go the Louvre Museum and there see some of their most favorite exhibits: the Mona Lisa, Venus de Mila, and Winged Victory. We will then take a stroll through the Champs-Elysees and admire the elegant Arc de Triomphe. Afterward, we will explore the awe-inspiring Notre Dame Cathedral. Next on the list is the Montmatre district. This bohemian style district is a great place to purchase a painting. Before we leave Paris we must sample some the famous French delicacies, including frog legs and escargot.
Our last stop in Paris is the luxurious Palace of Versailles.

We will stop in Caen, France and remember those who have come and gone before us as walk the beaches of Normandy. We will honor those who died for us at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.

Across the canal and were in Amesbury, England. We will travel to Stonehenge, and as we are awestruck by these amazing stones we will uncover the possible meaning behind its design.

We travel to Oxford, England. We will explore this famous town that blends ancient architecture and modern business together. Before we leave we will "punt" along the river for a leisurely ride in a pole boat.

Our last stop before we leave is London, England.We will get to know the Beefeaters, official guards of the Tower of London, and hear about the tower’s many functions over the last 10 centuries. We will hear an insider’s perspective on British government from a member of Parliament.We will cruise past Big Ben and other London landmarks on a Thames riverboat. We will re-create life in the Middle Ages—complete with lunch with King Henry VIII! We will then relive a tense moment in history in the Cabinet War Rooms where Winston Churchill commanded Britain during World War II.
Outside Buckingham Palace, we will watch for the flag to see if the queen is in. then we will experience the ceremonial changing of the guard. We will take in a play or musical in the West End, considered the capital of the theater world. We will enjoy an evening on the grounds of Warwick Castle, where a medieval encampment brims with music, games, and colorful characters—from knights to rat catchers. We will train to wage war as a knight, and watch the world’s largest trebuchet (catapult) in action. Finally, we will soar over the city in the London Eye, the world’s largest Ferris wheel before we return home with a new experience, and hopefully a new outlook, to share.
