Once again, I've been lazy on my posting job. I'm really sorry. I know I should be doing it more. I've been having some issues with my classes though, and everyone has been preparing us for the AP tests, so I've been INSANELY busy. But, updates on my life:
I finally got my passport. I almost didn't, but was lucky enough to have looked through the rules before I went. When you get your passport, if your under 16, both of your parents have to sign a permission form. Once your 16, then one of your parents have to sign. Well, the person that I was getting my passport from was trying to tell us that I had to have both of my parents sign. My dad kind of has issues with going out of the house, and everything has to be signed infront of this person. There was no way I was going to be able to get my passport if I had to get dad to sign. Luckily, there was another person there that said that I only had to have mom sign it, so crisis averted.
I decided I am going to take a chemistry class at Clark, which is the local community college. Through the school, I can go without having to pay for any of my classes. I took the test, and passed everything, although I only barely passed the basic algebra. Sad, since I'm in Calculus. Algebra was the thing I took the longest on and did the worst on out of all four tests. I can now go into almost any of the classes they want. I, however, want to take a chemistry lab, because I don't want to take any of the classes they have left at school, but I still want another science credit. So, I will be taking 5 college or university level classes next year, and 2, maybe 3, regular classes. Classes start on September 20th. Which leads me into my next big event.
There is no way I am going to be able to convince mom to drive me to class every other day. So, I have to figure out another way to get there. Which means I have to learn how to drive. I've been putting it off, because I'm kind of scared to drive. I'm not scared about getting into a car wreck and dying. No, the thing I'm scared of is getting into a car wreck and killing the other person. I don't really care if I get hurt, but if they die, I won't be able to forgive myself. Anyway, I had to go get my permit. I'm cutting it kind of close, because I have, at todays date, I have 5 months and 20 days until classes start, and 5 months and 16 days until I can try for my drivers license. Cutting close, I know. Anyway, so I got my permit, which, I had to take the test twice before I passed. I was so mad at myself when I failed, but I can't be good at everything the first time. So I have my permit, which means I have to get a car . . .
I have to get a car, which means I have to have the money to buy the car, which means I have to get a job. I'm trying to get one now. There is a strip mall about a mile from where I live, which I know from experience is at the most a 25 minute walk from where here. I haven't got one yet, but I'm working on it. I hope to have one by the end of the week.
So, that's it for the major posts in my life, I think. I'll keep trying to update more, but until I'm all caught up on my work (almost there!) and all the AP test are done, it's going to be kind of hard. Oh well. I'll do my best.

Choral Showcase
Money Earned Today: 0 Money Earned Total: 140
Today was the choral showcase for choir. The point of the choral showcase is to convince the 8th graders coming into Heritage to be a part of the choir. We have to do this, because the counselors try their hardest to convince kids not to take choir unless they are going to major in music. Which, by the way, is stupid. It is proven that fine arts (music, dance, art) helps to improve a persons grade and SAT scores. Of course, they don't seem to understand that. Anyway it was a lot of fun. Concert choir sang 2 songs: Little Birds, and Zum Gali. Both are interesting, but we haven't been doing very well lately, and I'm worried that we aren't going to be very good for our next concert. Then was Mens Ensemble, which was hilarious. They did two songs, I don't know the name of the first song, but it was in another language. Then they sang a song called Star Wars. THAT was funny. It's set to the Indiana Jones theme song, but it is about Star Wars. Here's a little bit that I remember.

New LD topic

There hasn't really been a lot going on recently. I've just been doing schools stuff. Oo, I'm going to go get my learners permit on Wednesday. I'm also going to go get my passport. There aren't really a lot of papers to fill out, but a lot of rules and a lot of papers and stuff to bring. But I'm very excited. Also, we got our new LD topic today. It's about jury nullification, and whether that is a just check on a governments laws. I think it is going to be very interesting.

Woo, Debate

Today I had a debate meet. It was relatively small. There was supposed to be 9 schools there. Somehow I don't believe that. In LD, there was 4 people, including me. We all knew each other. That can be a curse and a blessing. It's a blessing because we know a lot about each other, and how the other debates. I guess that can be a curse too. Then, there is the fact that we've all debated each other. That is definitely a curse. We know each others cases, which makes it easier for the other to shoot you down. I have debated all of those people before, and on one of them we debated the same cases, so it was interesting, because I already knew her case. I had changed mine a little, but not much. I don't know my scores yet, but I'll find out tomorrow. We'll see how it went. There is at least one where I'm pretty sure I lost. Oh well, we'll know tomorrow.

A brand new semester

Today was the beginning of a new semester. I am now officially 62.5% done with my high school career. German got moved to second period, which means there are new people in my class. Fourth Period I am now a Teachers Assistant for the main office. It will be the easiest class I have ever done. My job? To greet people and answer the phone. Between, I can do my homework. So basically, it's an open period. I am very happy about this. Also, there is another TA, so we can just sit and talk. And it means half the time, I don't even have to be the greeter or phone answer. It is awesome. Also, I have a new teacher for math. We are starting to do antiderivatives, which is just as weird as it sounds. I really like this new teacher. His name is Mr. Chase. He seems really nice, is pretty funny, and we write almost identically. It kind of freaked him out. I think I am going to really enjoy that class.

Last Day of Finals

Today was the last day of finals for this semester. I liked it a lot more today, because the tests were easier. The first was German. I'm in German 1, so it's pretty easy stuff. The biggest issues I have is accidentally replacing German words with English words that mean the same thing and are spelled very similar, like ich and I. Other than that it was a fairly easy test.
The next test that I had was Washington State History. Now, I think that this could be an awesome class, except that all they give us is busy work. I wouldn't even mind if it was busy work that was thought provoking, but it's all just work that you can copy out of the book. And during tests we are allowed to use papers from the chapter that have all of the answers on it. It was easy.
The last final I had was for AP Language and Composition. I really like this class. It ends up being a lot of discussions and writing. We have to write an essay every week, on Friday. I tend to do fairly well, with my average about a 6.3. A 5 is college level. We had to write an essay today about how we have improved, what we could still improve on, and what we have learned from the class. It was interesting to look back at all of the papers I have written and see where I have improved and what I still need help on.
Then I got home, and realized: I HAVE NO HOMEWORK!!!!!!!!!! This is basically a miracle, because all of my classes give me homework. It was awesome to sit, play cards, and take a nap. Yeah for the semester being done.
RANDOM COMMENT: The world is coming to an end. How can I profit because of this? Just kiding about the profit thing. But no really, the worlds coming to an end. Yesterday, at Yellowstone National Park, about 80 earthquakes were registered between 2.0 and 4.0. That's 80 in ONE DAY. Most people don't know this, but there is a super volcanoe under yellowstone. This will be the fourth time it has exploded in geologic history. What tends to happen is a caldera forms under yellowstone, and the pressure building causes the earth under yellowstone to rise. This makes the ground weaker, and once enough pressure has built, it explodes. The one now is the biggest in history. Let's just hope it waits a while before it explodes.

Finals . . .

Today and tommorow are finals for my classes at school. Today I had choir, AP Calculus AB, and AP Chemistry. Now, most of them are okay. The only problem is with chemistry. The order of classes is supposed to go Chemistry, then AP Chemistry. Well, nobody told me that, so I'm in the AP Chem class, and I haven't taken regular chemistry yet. The biggest issue that I have is with the ions (atoms with charge). I can never remeber what the number of oxygens are and the charges. I also have issues with the solubility rules (when an atom will dissolve in water). So, last night, I realized that I remember the best through anagrams. So I came up with one for the ions, and the solubility rules. The first is really weird, so bear with me.

Yes, I know, it's kind of creepy. What do you expect, it was 8 o'clock at night. Give me a break. I promise the rest of them aren't that creepy. They might be just as weird, though. The next one isn't actually an anagram, but it still helps me remember which of the ions are soluable.
N N03- (Nitrates are soluable)
A C2H3O2- (Acetates are soluable, except for Ag+)
C ClO3- (Chlorates are soluable)
C Cl- (Chlorides are soluable, except for Ag+, Pb+2, and Hg+2)
